At Faclon Labs, You will

1. You'll build a team of engineers focused on building out critical components of our Engineering team.
2. Support all facets of team management to attract, engage, retain, and nurture teams of outstanding engineers (e. g., recruitment, mentoring, training and development, performance evaluation).
3. Partner with the product and UX/UX teams and other cross functional partners to develop overall vision, strategy and roadmap for our engineering systems and product suites.
4. Champion engineering and operational excellence, establishing metrics and processes for regular assessment and improvement.
5. Establish a solid project framework and excellent development processes.
6. Drive an excellent experience, continuously raising the bar on functionality, usability, and simplicity.
7. Provide technical and architectural direction for the development, design, integration, testing, and maintenance of our products.
8. Lead agile software processes for the engineering team and introduce best-in-class industry practices.
9. Handle technical debt to ensure our development velocity stays responsive and predictable while minimizing production incidents of our operations.

Should Apply If You Have

1. Experience in hiring and performance management of backend teams at SaaS offering companies.
2. Experience in leading engineering teams, including experience in managing Tech Leads.
3. 2 - 4 years of work experience architecting, developing, and shipping well tested software products and/or services.
4. Strong analytic skills and a demonstrated sense of ownership and accountability.
5. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills and the ability to work with a wide variety of people.
6. A service-oriented mentality while driving excellence across the organization.
7. Strong organizational skills, both for yourself and the team.
8. Business acumen: Proven understanding of business dynamics, goals, and product strategy. Knowledge of how Engineering fits into the company's overall business.
9. The ability to balance business needs, a sense of urgency, conflicting constraints, and shipping high quality and pragmatic solutions in a fast-moving and quickly-growing company.
10. Bachelors/Masters in Computer Science or related field/equivalent practical experience, experience in MEAN stack is a big plus.
11. Interest in building things from scratch and being a decision maker here.
12. Critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
13. Attention to detail and keen eye to build the perfect product.

Technical Skills

1. Web development concepts - basics of REST APIs, server architecture.
2. Prior experience with Javascript (Node.js), MongoDB.
3. Prior experience with in-memory databases like Redis.
4. Design and build efficient, horizontally scalable systems.
5. Create microservices and tools, manage servers on cloud.
6. Experience with containerization technology like Docker.
7. Experience with queueing systems like RabbitMQ and Kafka is a plus.
